White people, black and brown communities are actually very welcoming to white people, despite the history and the centuries of trauma that they've put us through. But you know who's not welcoming. Sara, It's y'all. You know who doesn't want us in leadership positions. You know who doesn't want us working jobs with them. You know who doesn't want us at their churches, at their schools playing their sports like tennis. You. We've been ready to stop talking about race. But because it's part of every fucking aspect of American society, we have no choice but to recognize it. Because, hey, guess what, We're not seen as inherently American because we're not white. Where hyphenated Americans, something that you will never have to understand. You get to just be American and nobody ever questions it. Nobody ever asked you. But where are you really from ?
