Spent the morning trying to get work done. We're being moved to MS from Google -- but with these systems, how much work do they think we can get done being constantly disturbed by emails, chat, etc. Haven't they heard about the productivity lost to context switching? Geez.. #AcademicWoes
It's one of those days when research yields nothing. Spent too long looking for a reference in the Sussex newspaper, the month and year which, of course, was at the end of a reel. Then another reel was found to be splitting, just like my headache from viewing the microfilm. Sigh. #AcademicWoes

If you’re writing for a US journal that uses APA referencing, but you’re more familiar with Harvard, don’t use Harvard for your 10k article thinking that it’s similar & you’ll change your refs to APA quickly at the end. I’ve spent all day doing this, and I’m not yet half way through. #academicwoes
A rule: if you lose your camera's battery charger during a clean up of your office, search for it at least five times and have to cancel your visit to the archives, it will show up when you're looking for something else and after your new charger is delivered and unpackaged. #AcademicWoes
