I've said most of it in the main body of the post, but to add a bit of flavour, Saffy was a brown tabby, with a ginger tabby blob on the back of her head, and a fluffy white cloud of a belly. She liked showing us her fluffy cloud as a show of trust; we would admire it from afar, make the appropriate flattering noises, and if we'd earned it, she'd let us give it a little rub for luck. We'd almost finished decorating the tree; she'd gone up to do quality control and give her final approval, which she'd done, and this pic shows her preparing to step down to the floor, where a stray strand of gold tinsel is just dangling from the tree, waiting to be replaced as soon as Her Gorgeousness has disembarked.

Here's the lovely Saffy helping decorate our 30 year-old artificial tree - it repaid its carbon debt years ago, and is held together with duct tape and faith.🎄

I think I said it all in my post, but going into alt text zooms the photo in a bit, and now I can see that the light in the photo it making the cat look a lot blacker than they actually are. I think they may actually be a very dark tabby, but I think I'll claim some artistic license here, since it's a happy coincidence that this cat looked like the opposite of yesterday's, and I don't want to spoil the illusion!

It's like someone put some lights on yesterday's tree and a mostly black cat took the place of yesterday's mostly white one.
IDK about you, but when it comes to fairies, I'll take the fluffy feline variety on top of my tree every time 😻

Today's Christmas tree is a real tree - a noble fir - or it might be a Douglas, I've never been much good at telling them apart. It's festooned with coloured fairy lights. There's a solitary bauble hanging in the centre of the tree, partially concealed by branches. It's ginger with faint tabby markings - pointy ears and a pair of beady eyes...

This one's a bit different. It's still a Christmas tree, but this time it's got two cats up it. They're juveniles by the look of them, maybe just a year, or just under, losing that gangly teenager look about their limbs before becoming fully adult cats. They're both near the top of the tree. The black cat is highest, and has a proper smug look on their face, while the tabby just underneath looks somewhat surprised. Maybe the tree's poking in places that a cat doesn't normally get poked..

Today's offering is a 6 months old or thereabouts, mackerel tabby, who's managed to climb almost to the top of the Christmas tree. The tippty top of the tree is out of shot, but I can just make out the bottom of the fairy's dress, which the kitten has hooked with a single claw on its right paw. The kitten it looking at the camera defiantly; they know they have all the power here; the person taking the photo has nowhere near enough time to drop their phone and get to the kitten before they rip that fairy's dress right off.

Honestly, if you've been following the alt text on this advent calendar I threw together, of photos of cats up Christmas trees, which the internet is literally drowning in, you'll have worked out by now I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find new adjectives to describe what is essentially same photo every day, featuring a different cat and different baubles. I have to admit though, the pale tabby kitten poking its front half out of the middle of this tree is especially cute. facial expression suggests the kitten is watching something very interesting going on elsewhere in the room, is suffering from FOMO, and wondering if they can manage to pounce out of the tree without losing too much dignity.

What can I say about this one? It's another Christmas tree with a cat up it. This one's a kitten, maybe 6 months old, looks a bit Siamese-ish. Pupils dilated, looking at the person behind the camera with an expression that suggests extreme mischief is afoot.

I'm not sure if the tree is real or not - if it isn't, it looks quite realistic. It's been draped in warm white fairy lights (as opposed to those horrible, cold, bluish-white lights I see dripping down the outsides of houses and shops). There's a fat strand of black tinsel draped around the tree, near the top. It's quite fluffy tinsel, and it's got a pair of pointy ears, and two bright eyes at one end of it...

Christmas tree, around 6 feet, maybe 7, festooned with lights and a few coloured glass (or plastic to look like glass) baubles. Sticking out of almost the very centre of the tree is a rather fluffy light brown bum and tail. It is definitely feline in nature. Personally, I think it makes the tree more beautiful. Who needs tinsel and glitter when you've got cats?

I'm sorry I haven't been posting any alt text for my Advent Kitties. I've been doing about eleventeen things at once lately, all of them annoying, and time's been getting away from me. Basically the Advent Kitties are a series of photos of cats up Christmas trees, which I found on one of my many internet safaris. All the trees are in someone's house, decorated with the usual glinsel and titter, with a cat somewhere up them. All the pics I posted so far has a very obvious cat. This one, not so much; a wee head is poking through the branches about two-thirds of the way up what looks like a 6 foot artificial, but realistic-looking tree. It's decorated far too tastefully for me. I prefer to get the box of lights, glinsel and titter, chuck it at the tree and see what lands. Then I add all the little home made decorations me and friends/family have been exchanging for the last 20 or so years and there it stays; a festive mess full of things that bring back happy memories. Saffy, one of my familiars, sitting to attention under our Christmas tree. It's adorned with the usual tinsel, lights and baubles. Saffy's just returned from a forestry mission; she looks like butter wouldn't melt, but she's got a bit of gold tinsel wrapped around her that speaks volumes about her clandestine activities. The other end is still draped on the tree.
It's that time of year again, and the #AdventKitties are limbering up, ready for their special forestry season. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
