not near us here (in the next county), but looking like a nasty one at over 5,000 acres already

The #AeroFire is still growing rapidly.
They've expanded the evacuation zone to include O'Byrne's Ferry Rd to Hwy 108 - which includes the Conservation Center (prison). I can't imagine the logistics of evacuating a prison.
#COPPEROPOLIS, CALIFORNIA: Few details about the fire have been released at this time. However, the #CalaverasCounty Sheriff's Office said the #AeroFire has burned about 1,000 acres so far. www.abc10.com/article/news... - ABC10

Smoke plumes from three active grass/brush fires in NorCal are visible on weather radar this PM. These wind-driven fires are putting out a fair bit of smoke, as well as some shallow pyrocumulus clouds at times. #AeroFire near Copperopolis presently of most concern. #CAfire #CAwx

The good thing about not having massive fires at the moment means a ton of resources are available
It's mostly in dry rangeland, and growing fast with the winds. But grass fires tend not to burn as hot. At least not until the get to the denser oak and chaparral a little higher up. #AeroFire
