I had the pleasure, together with the #AfricanUnion Commissioner Prof. Gaspard Banyankimbona, to meet an inspiring group of students & discuss opportunities and careers in the space sector.

🌍 As Africa focuses on taking greater ownership of its peace and security going forward, the #AfricanUnion (AU) must rethink the tools it relies on, particularly the long-standing separation between emergency response, peace operations and #peacebuilding.

The #AfricanUnion adopted a motion put forward by Ghana to #labelslavery&colonialismascrimesagainsthumanity. This month the UN will table that motion, with demands made for redress. despite multiple summits, and policy-level institutional progress, former colonial powers are yet to make amends
