No, but seriously, it wasn’t a conscious decision or anything but becoming a paladin cost him his entire family. He didn’t swear his Oath until he’d been in captivity for nearly a year. (Details in comments.)

The cold also worsens his chronic pain, which can kind of ruin the whimsy of snow if he doesn’t take steps to manage his pain before it gets bad.

It varies for #Akoryrr. Before the start of the game it’s typically reliving the moment his mother & mentor were killed trying to protect him. Other times it’s the year-ish he spent in captivity (mostly in chains in one room).
Once he gets attached to the crew he worries he won’t be 1/2

#Akoryrr is gay & ambiamorous. He is timid when it comes to sex, due to some bad experiences he’s had in the past with flings finding out he’s trans. It’s why he loves body worship and gentle affection. He gets off more from having his top surgery scars kissed than anything rough.

#Akoryrr is useless with kids. Not in a bad way, necessarily, but he just… doesn’t know what he’s doing. His only knowledge and experience in regards to upbringing is that which he received in the Underdark, which isn’t exactly ideal. I think he’d be fiercely protective, but a bit clueless.
