#AlbumsoftheYear2024 I was fortunate enough to get tickets and see FDC at al album release show back in August and the live experience really brought these songs to life. My most played album of 24. Just amazing.

Not many to go now from my #AlbumsoftheYear2024 and today we find Desperate Journalist and the wonderful No Hero. This took a few listens to really appreciate but it’s up there alongside Grow Up as maybe their best yet.

Today’ choice for #AlbumsoftheYear2024 is Imploding by Manchester’s @thmptypg.bsky.social a DIY band who never fail to deliver. Angry, visceral, political and at times delicate, it’s worthy of everyone’s time. Buy the album, go and see them live. They’re ace.

Today’s shout for a place on #AlbumsoftheYear2024 is an unusual venture (for me!) into the world of pop. I think I’ve had more simple joy from listening to this than most albums this year. Viva Hinds! The two collabs on here are superb and the rest stands up very well indeed. Great fun.

Day 11 of #AlbumsoftheYear2024 and we have Blushing with the superb album Sugarcoat. Echoes of Lush for sure, but there’s a freshness about this that makes it more than early 90s nostalgia. Tamagotchi is one of my favourite songs this year.
