As members of the #NCDAllianceScotland, we strongly support the publication their manifesto for the #ScottishElections, which calls for:

➡️Enforcing strict #AlcoholMarketing restrictions in outdoor spaces
➡️ Mandatory health labelling on alcohol products

A cost effective way to reduce the estimated £700million annual #NHS alcohol tab would be for the next #ScottishParliament to enact policies in our #AFSManifesto, including:

▶️ Restricting #AlcoholMarketing
▶️ Mandatory health warnings on alcohol products
▶️ Automatic uprating of #MUP

Funny that...🙄

Self regulation does not work. It's time we introduced genuine restrictions on #AlcoholMarketing, especially to protect children and young people

#AlcoholMarketing has no place in childhood.

All children should play, learn and socialise in places that are healthy and safe, protected from exposure to alcohol marketing

Shocking new report that shows that #BigAlcohol successfully pressured to the UK Government to drop #AlcoholMarketing restrictions from their 10 Year Health Plan.

@publichealthscot.bsky.social last year concluded that alcohol marketing is pervasive, persuasive and freqeunt exposure drives harm.

Children and young people are regularly exposed to harmful #AlcoholMarketing which we know leads to early onset drinking - and increases the likelihood of developing an alcohol problem

Good news on #AlcoholDuty in today's budget but we echo the calls for a more comprehensive plan to tackle alcohol harm by @ias.org.uk

England should follow Scotland's lead by introducing #MUP

#AlcoholMarketing restrictions should also be part of the mix

Looking forward to hearing more about these studies on #AlcoholMarketing to #LGBT communities and #AlcoholFree nightlife spaces for these communities

We know that the #LGBT community is targeted by alcohol companies & there is a dearth of alcohol free community spaces

The #AlcoholDeaths crisis is not an ‘addiction’ problem

It’s a problem of a culture where alcohol is placed at centre stage, normalised & celebrated as indispensable to our lives

#AlcoholMarketing helps shape that culture, so marketing restrictions are part of the solution

Image quote of a person in recovery. Text reads. "Even after nearly 20 years of sobriety, I can still feel triggered on rare occasions. It might be a glossy advert, a shop display, or a scene in a film that links alcohol with comfort, celebration or escape. These portrayals can stir emotional memories or fleeting urges, proving that alcohol marketing isn't harmless "background noise" It can have a real, lasting impact, even on those who have worked hard to build a life in recovery. That is why I believe there's a strong public health case for tighter restrictions on alcohol advertising and the ways it is embedded in our everyday environments."
