The #OuedBouaïchaMassacre during the #AlgerianCivilWar was on #ThisDayInHistory in 1998. About 52 people, most of them children under the age of sixteen, were killed by 15 #Islamists with axes & knives. Three young women were carried off for unspeakable purposes.

A #Islamist militia in the #AlgerianCivilWar attacked the town of Sidi-Hamed on #ThisDayInHistory in 1998, the last day of #Ramadan. Between 120 and 400 people, including many children, were killed outright in the #SidiHamedMassacre, and many girls were reported as kidnapped.

The #AlgerianCivilWar (its #BlackDecade) had many #massacres, some by the state, most by #Islamist militants enraged when their election win was nullified. The #WilayaOfRelizane Massacre, #ThisDayInHistory in 1997, is arguably the worst, with almost 400 killed in four villages.
