The #ArabUprisings/#ArabSpring reached #Yemen in force on #ThisDayInHistory in 2011, when 16,000 protestors took over #Sanaa. The #YemeniRevolution succeeding in deposing #AliAbdullahSaleh, but has failed to stabilize, being riven by old grievances and suffering foreign attacks.

Almost a year of mass protests in #Yemen broke the dictatorship of #AliAbdullahSaleh on #ThisDayInHistory in 2011, when he signed a deal to step down in exchange for immunity. President of North Yemen from 1978-1990, and Yemen from 1990-2012, he was later killed in 2017.
