I haven’t posted much about #Alidade since the postmortem, but I’m already at work on some new updates! Some of this requires custom UI that #SwiftUI doesn’t have out of the box, so I’ve made a small demo app that lets me prototype these components more easily.

Thanks to the help of a few Playdate friends, I was able to get the core map navigation experience in #Alidade significantly improved! It now uses a #MapKit view with custom tile overlays. Feels wrong, yet so right lol

#Alidade has been an absolute blast to work on. I use this app all the time when I'm playing in my forever world on Minecraft to find and keep track of notable locations more easily, and I hope this app will provide the same utility for lots of folks in a native, offline, and pleasant way.
