Sigourney Weaver Would Like To Return To Alien Saga Again Despite the series making a star out of her, Sigourney Weaver wanted to stop at the second Alien movie. She requested to James Cameron that “Aliens” end with her death scene. The request was denied. Later on, she made the same request to Alien 3 director David Fincher — and got it. Alien 3 ends the whole saga on a grim note as Ripley sacrifices herself on a prison planet to save the universe. Except it doesn’t end there — Weaver was back again for the fourth movie, and because of what she did, they had to come up with a convoluted reason for her being there. It’s because of Weaver that I’m always skeptical whenever an actor claims this is the “last” time they’ll play their most popular character. “Yeah right; that’s what Sigourney said. You’ll be back; you may be tired of it now, but eventually, you will miss it.” So guess who wants to be Ripley again? Weaver said to an interviewer at NYCC that Alien producer Walter Hill has written 50 pages of a script for a proposed movie that would, somehow, have Ellen The Brave in it.
