CITY began training on a chilly day in Downtown West and a full compliment of players (minus Célio).
Löwen and everyone else is out in the fields. Only other note is Durkin trained solo today which has been par for him during early week sessions so far. #AllForCITY
We're back! The international break is over and we're ready to dive back into the latest #AllForCITY news. Steve from The CITY SC Report joins us tonight to look back at NYCFC and more! The fun kicks off at 8p!

We talked about the game state and opponent's behavior playing into McSorley's time so far on the latest @flyoverfooty.bsky.social, but he's making the most of the chances given, and when you do that, you ideally begin to earn more and bigger opportunities. #AllForCITY
In today's fun with data, very small sample size edition, we see that after 6 match days, Brendan McSorley is outperforming Joao Klauss (as well as all other @stlcitysc.com players) in both SOT% and xG/90. #AllForCITY
Here are the matches with connections to #STLSoccer for Monday, April 6, 2026. #AllForCITY
City’s locked in starters plus current bench players who could force their way into the starting lineup
CITY are through 6 tough games and are close to having everyone available. The USOC match is well timed for guys to push for starts. For me, only Hartel, Burki, and Orozco are locked in starters. Lowen and Fallou will join them. Then there’s lots of guys who could push into the lineup #AllForCITY
This summer, I think #AllForCITY needs a real solution at 9, and to improve at LWB and CB. Find homes for Jeong, Hiebert, Yaro, Glover. Assuming JGR doesn't rejoin (that would be a trip), that'd give us 1 DP and 2 U22 slots open. 3 open Senior spots, 2 Supplemental.
I have criticisms coming in longer form, specifically in the usage of Sergio Córdova, but this is a match that #allforcity were overwhelming underdogs and came out the other side with a just result on the road against an Eastern Conference favorite. The subs were high impact. That's good context.
An important caveat to g+ is that it doesn't reward moving away from goal, so recycled possessions are given a negative value. Even then, concerning that the WBs are so far into the negative. There's a case for starting Totland despite the small sample size, but #allforcity need to add out wide.
American Soccer Analysis's g+ database showing St. Louis's top 7 players in goals added: Marcel Hartel, Cedric Teuchert, Brendan McSorely, Célio, Mykhi Joyner, Miggy Perez, and Tomas Totland
7 #allforcity players are positive g+ performers through 6 matches. Important to remember that some of that is influenced by the game state - McSorely probably isn't a positive if he's a starter (as much as I'd like to see it just once) - but just 2 of those players (counting Teuchert) are starters.
On the road against a very good NYCFC, this is a stronger #allforcity performance than anyone should have expected going into the match.

St. Louis rank 15th in SixOnefive's index and are 2nd in SOS thanks to just one matchup outside of the top 12. Until they host Austin next month, New England will have been their only opponent outside of the top 12 this season.
St. Louis have the 2nd toughest strength of schedule through the first 6 games of the season according to SixOneFive Soccer's MLS Index. Ben Wright's (@benwright.bsky.social) model is actually quite optimistic on #allforcity compared to their spot in the table.
Some optimistic takes before I post my #allforcity analysis:
Marcel Hartel's shot placement in the first half last night would've beaten a lesser keeper. His 26th and 39th minute shots were hopeful 0.10 xG chances, but he picked out the corner on both for 1.08 expected on target.
He's been on one.
Impressed how #allforcity didn't quit and kept attacking last night. I feel like last year they would've lost 2 or 3-0. I get it wasn't a great performance but that pitch did no favors for the flow of the match either.

🚨NEW FALLOUT🚨
@stlcitysc.com grabs a point from the jaws of defeat late to draw NYCFC 1-1! We recap everything from the matchday roster choices to the chances created (and not created), mistakes, the never-say-die attitude of this club & more. #AllForCITY

And for a club struggling to create high quality chances in the final third, his performances aren't something that can go unnoticed when looking at the attackers to roll out. #AllForCITY
Brendan McSorley now leads all @stlcitysc.com players in SOT%, Shots/90 & xG/shot. It's a smaller sample size & the game states are different when he enters but whether you want to see him start or just acknowledge him as a must-sub each match, McSorley is taking a big step in his growth #AllForCITY
Aside from the smash and grab result off McSorley's head, the team showed life when the subs entered after 65 min of unpalatable soccer. Even without the point earned, that squad was more active and entertaining. #AllForCITY
A fun fact that's starting to define the mentality of @stlcitysc.com in 2026 under Yoann Damet: In coming from behind to earn a point at NYCFC, CITY has now come from behind in two straight matches for 4 total points.
CITY had only done this twice in all of 2025. #AllForCITY

#AllForCITY head coach Yoann Damet on tonight's game after the 1-1 draw in New York.
A special one for McSorely. He told us post game that he originally asked for over 20 tickets tonight.
“Being around home, you can feel it. I had a feeling since the day I woke up… today that I was going to score and I was lucky enough to do that.
