Sure, he doesn't resemble that caring, seemingly sweet man at the start of this, but I like how he slowly reveals that below the surface, the man she first saw still exists. -- Book quote 'Some people get off on the terror of others, so it’s best not to tempt him. Whatever is holding him back from advancing is a barrier I don’t want to disable.' -- Emilia Caruso Don't get me wrong. This is dark and slightly messed up, but their relationship as adults is full of sparks, some hot and steamy, some questionable and concerning. -- Book quote “If you speak again, I will shove my cock between those pretty lips to ensure you shut the fuck up.” -- Maximus Silvestri She may not have much experience with anything outside the confines of her cell / childhood bedroom, but I love how she soaks them up when opportunity presents itself. Her wonder feels almost childlike. I listened to the audio book. The narrators, Aidan Snow and Allie Shae, are terrific selections for these characters.
