He rattled them off & still remembered. It was an honor to talk to him. My grandfather served WWII and hated the Army. I have his letters to grandma. Both my brother and I served too. #AltVet

Both grandpas were civil engineers for the Navy post WWII, one worked on the rebuilding of Pearl Harbor. My uncle served 28 years in the Navy. My mom was a 20 yr JAG in the USAF. Husband was USCG pre 9/11.

#AltVet storytime. It’s Veterans Day so I thought I would celebrate by talking about my favorite veteran, my grandpa. He was a WWII era Navy veteran, in a unit we would now call the Seabees, but at that point were called the Construction Battalions (CBs is where we get the Seabees moniker). 1/?

Following in his parents footsteps, Shane Ortega enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2004. Shane, who is Haudenosaunee-Tuscarora, states that “Native Americans serve more than any other demographic of people.”

So true Bart. This man fought for your right to freedom of speech. When he exercised his right to speak, his REPRESENTATIVE, not his overlord, denied him the very same right & had him pushed out by thug enforcers who also violated his rights.
