I delivered my book, #AmericanBacon, today to @ugapress.bsky.social.

I know it’s not the last time I’ll see it with copy edits and then page proofs, but wow, what a feeling of excitement and fear.

After five years, two rounds of peer review, 110,770 words in 1,694 paragraphs, I guess that’s that.

I’m interested in phenomena when people play roles for public consumption, the spectacularizarion of race, class, gender, i.e minstrelsy and masquerade.

My next book, #BaconBook #AmericanBacon explores similar themes!
