An American giant millipede making its way across a pile of wood chips. It is moving left to right. The millipede's body is cylindrical and several inches long. It is gray with red lines between each segment. This shot was taken from directly above, so most of its more than 100 feet are not visible. The ones that can be seen also appear red, as do the small antenna at the front of its head.
