This #AmericanMastersPBS episode on Liza Minnelli is tremendous. She's been a campy punchline for so long, but her story of work and work and work is inspiring. Also she's funny (watch Arthur, if you never have). Liza is cool. And one of her best friends is Mia Farrow, so she's doubly cool.

Many have recorded and interpreted "'Round Midnight". It's a favourite jazz standard. I'm all about Hazel Scott today following the excellent #AmericanMastersPBS documentary special, so here's her version. It's as gorgeous, fierce, and unrelenting as she was in my opinion.

#AmericanMastersPBS The Disappearance of Miss Scott is an exemplary production. I only learned of Hazel Scott in the late 2010s myself. Racists in this country have been nothing, if not thorough, in their erasure.
And yet, she gets a posthumous laugh. We move! Still. 👊🏽
