my haikai-styled monostich (better known as senryu) are about 13 to 14 syllables since that amt of syllables really approximates the brevity of the 17 sound #haiku.

the tridecasyllable (trideca- meaning thirteen)- 13 syllable line, would be my version of Ginsberg's #americansentences; though Id have to call it something else. I want to respect Mr Ginsberg's creation and the rules that govern it.

yeeeesssssssss! when i was first coming to English Language Haiku, I first was introduced to Ginsberg's American Sentences. That's a high honor to have some of my free verse #senryu compared to his #americansentences. Thank you for reminding me, I might need to revisit those...or even modify them...
