"When Big Red Comes Calling" - a minimalist, expressionist painting by British artist Angela Smyth. Using a very simple pallet of tomato soup red, black and off-white, she depicts a hulking, hairy devil sitting on a house's portico, looking in through a first floor window. It might even pass for an illustration from a modernist children's book, but for the faint sense of unease and starkness.
