Muffin, the mum, was emaciated by the time I trapped her. I her up, but it wasn't enough. She was so depleted of calcium she started having seizures.
Also, #catrescue update on Mirch. It's taken 6 months, but we had our first out of crate pats yesterday. And he didn't bloody do it by halves. Leaning in, getting distracted, giving shoulder and ears for pats, and that look even I stopped!

One of my favourite tools in #kitten #animalrehab is the extendable/retractable wand toy. It gives you the ability to bring the #cat closer to you, while keeping them low(er) stress. And because it's a physical link, the cat KNOWS they're playing with you, but can maintain distance.
When you are in #animalrehab, occasionally you are truly blessed with a 'click moment'. When the creature you're working with, just gets IT. Taking treats from the hand was Mirch's click. He accepted pats at dinner tonight AND he purred. He has such a LOUD, deep purr. It's louder than his meow.
Scared foster #kittens learned to take treats from my hand. Mirch is so gentle. You can hear his squeaky meow at 0:18.
