In case you were wondering how it’s performing there…the answer is “very well.” Sine opening July 18, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has broken three box office opening weekend records in Japan, including the highest opening day, first day, and single day results of all time for the country. It is now the third-highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, with only Spirited Away and a previous Demon Slayer film, Mugen Train, beating it. In other words, the gamble to change the adaption from television to theatrical premieres has paid off. While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades – Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Along the way, his journey has led him to fight alongside the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui within the Entertainment […] The post Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Conquers Japanese Box Office appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

Crunchyroll Presents Anime Nights: A Monthly Theatrical Event Crunchyroll has been no stranger to the big screen these days, with special one-night releases arranged through Fathom Events on a regular basis. Occasionally something comes along that’s so big it gets its own independent release, like the latest Demon Slayer movie, but for the most part these things have been piped through the same company that re-releases classic films on their anniversaries or shows concerts. Anime Nights will be something different. It’s a direct partnership between Crunchyroll and the nation’s largest theater companies to showcase the latest and greatest of anime. The plan was revealed during Comic-Con last weekend: the third Monday of every month will be selected to “honor the past, elevate the present, and celebrate the future of anime.” “Anime Nights offers more than a screening – it’s a shared experience that honors the art form, invites fans into the world of creators, and brings anime to life in a theatrical setting,” said Mitchel Berger, Executive Vice President of Commerce. “Crunchyroll is committed to the theatrical experience, and there’s something powerful about watching beloved anime surrounded by friends and fellow fans in a theater. It’s a unique opportunity to connect to the anime community every month to […] The post Crunchyroll Presents Anime Nights: A Monthly Theatrical Event appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.
