Wish the background music didn't make her voice difficult to hear in some parts of the video but so thankful for this new tidbit. A phenomenal black woman responsible for American culture but never credited for her fabulous designs. Isolated and segregated and still fly. #annlowe #fashion #talent

Ann Lowe: The forgotten Black designer who created gowns for the white elite Ann Lowe was the go-to designer among the fashionable elite of the mid-20th century. But because of her race, they were loath to admit it.

Because you mentioned sculpturing. Another famous black designer🥰. But not in her time🤦‍♂️. #AnnLowe.

Bed doll circa 1950s. Decorating your bed & toilet tank with a doll was popular. The doll’s skirt hid toilet paper. Her dress is like an Ann Lowe dress. She’s missing an earring, has a dead fly stuck under the tulle. I will gently clean her & remove the insect. 🪰⚰️ #annlowe #africanamericandolls

Thank you American Decorative Arts Forum for the wonderful lecture this afternoon about Ann Lowe, American Couturier. I was lucky to see the dresses at Winterthur, the day before the exhibition closed. @adafnorcal @winterthurmuse @legionofhonor #annlowe

The other reason for Delaware, the Ann Lowe exhibit at Winterthur. Most known for Jacqueline Kennedy’s wedding dress. It’s a replica because the original is too fragile to show. Glad I took photos; any merchandise related to the exhibit already sold out… @winterthurmuse #annlowe #jacquelinekennedy
