THEN after she's assaulted by a man (who might have an std you never know) she had to confess to a sin that was committed against her, as if she was the sinner herself. My God.
I don't feel bad for people really, but my heart absolutely breaks for Shandi and all victims. It's hard to watch.

Watching Shandi after her assault on Top Model is disturbing to say the least. I cannot believe that NO ONE intervened. A young girl drinking and horny men is not a safe mix and I can't grasp that people just let SA happen and then acted like she consented is mind blowing.

Overall, while the E! documentary delved into more than that Netflix fluff piece, not even the VICE episode on #ANTM shined a new light on what a lot of ANTM fans already learned from internet livestreams. For what it was, it was perfectly fine. Even if it wasn't "the whole picture".

The alum who were in the #ANTM doc: Yoanna from Cycle 2, Jaslene from Cycle 8 and the main characters of the doc were Lisa from Cycle 5 and Cycle 17/All-Stars, Angelea from Cycle 14 and Cycle 17/All-Stars, Sarah from Cycle 9 and Jeana from Cycle 24. All of them (even Lisa) keep to their retellings.

Angelea in the #ANTM doc does point out that she and others were rightfully pissed the fuck off at Ken Mok for making an offhand comment in "thank you, you helped me put my daughters through college", when they reminded viewers that ANTM contestants didn't and still don't get paid *shit*.

Angelea maintains that #ANTM production *knew* about her hard times in the "labeled as escort" work, had her win All-Stars in Greece, before disqualifying her. Everyone is mad that the show lied, but Angelea is more mad that she won AND WAS STILL THEN DQ'd even after getting $300 "for her troubles".

Here's where things get messy outside the #ANTM docs. After the Netflix doc airs and people get to water cooler talking, comments from some of the ANTM alum and Netflix doc participants allege and imply that LISA was the one who told production about Angelea and her "labeled as escort" work.

What the Netflix and E! documentaries end up agreeing on, was the first 3 cycles of #ANTM felt the most pure or like Tyra was trying to make supermodels come from the TV show. Everything from Cycle 4 felt more ratings heavy and then after All-Stars Cycle 17/British Invasion Cycle 18 it went to SHIT.

In Hour 2 of the #ANTM doc, there's two details that were wrong. One was that Covergirl was where Adrienne Curry was denied her prizes. No, that was Revlon. (in turn Yoanna was supposedly getting a contract with Sephora for Cycle 2). Second was Tyra forgetting that Cycle 23 was hosted by Rita Ora.

And for the Janice Dickinson fans, sorry, she really didn't get much airtime aside from her getting the soundbite "She was a hardcore bitch". She does however, maintain that #ANTM was using the Simon Cowell effect to justify her being the bitch or harsh judge.

The other thing that came up in this #ANTM doc on E! in hour 1 was that Tyra's appearance at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood award show...opening and closing the doc altogether. This appearance was when she said "I don't want my legacy to be turned into stuff gathered on the internet".

One thing from Hour 1 (besides Cycle 4 apparently filming just on the outside of SKID ROW in Los Angeles) of note was Cycle 1 contestant Ebony revealing CHURCHES HAD HER PHONE NUMBER and were telling her to "come back to the Lord" after #ANTM had essentially outed her on NATIONAL TELEVISION.

As I thought, not a lot came up in the #ANTM documentary...at least in Hour 1, while Hour 2 seemed to have more of the dirt on her. It did feel intentionally postured as a "gurl fuck Tyra, this is our moment" even if they probably meant to say "look gurl, this is what happened"

While we’re on this trend; somebody PLEASE drop the documentary on Tyra being the DWTS host for a few seasons and how much of a terrible decision that was. I can only imagine the backstage stories! #ANTM #DWTS #dirtyrottenscandals
