Not Appomattox, but I decided to meander up the coast to see places where I had confirmed my ancestors were in the early 1600’s. Ended up at Ft Monroe somehow and stopped dead in my tracks by a sign noting where Jeff Davis was imprisoned. Nothing had ever made me feel more patriotic. #appomattoxday
