#AprilDailyYoga 2/2 I second Kassandra in the video below where she REPEATEDLY mentions that not every pose is for everybody.
Like her, I sometimes use blocks to support my back while doing this pose. Sometimes I don't cuz my body's feeling stretchy enough. Bodies, huh?

#AprilDailyYoga A 30-min, intermediate-to-advanced sesh that's one of my faves. The sequences get progressively more challenging until poses like king pigeon (or mermaid if you can do that), camel, and reclined hero join the flow. V. few modifications are given.

#AprilDailyYoga Good sesh for high beginners that features the usual w/twists and fire log pose. Not a fave, but worth checking out IMO.
youtu.be/R2wGGunEjG8?...
#AprilDailyYoga SO, I'll say this is for high beginners.
Also, if you have v. sensitive shoulders, SKIP THIS PRACTICE.
All in all, not a fave, but there we are.
#AprilDailyYoga A tricky not!chill, 20-min sesh that's got a mobility focus. Half of the poses are seated ones (staff and different forward bends). The other half are variations of reverse table top. O__o. There are NO modifications. 1/2
youtu.be/meYw2pVXHJM?...
#AprilDailyYoga A 40-min sesh that's beginner friendly. Lots of the usual poses from sun salutations + stuff like pyramid and splits (the latter is OPTIONAL. You can do half splits too.)
Great for those moments when you want to cool some anxious energy down. A fave.
youtu.be/1cZEt2EWFJY?...
#AprilDailyYoga V. fun and dynamic practice that's got some backbend poses (incl. camel and wild thing). Good for mid-level beginners.
Perfect sesh for anyone who sits for long periods of time. Your body will be stretched every which way, LOL.
www.youtube.com/live/fyh26Dj...
#AprilDailyYoga The word for this beginner-friendly sesh is INTENSE. You are moving every which way for a full hour.
Heads up that there are 6 mins of poses using your forearms (puppy, sphinx, forearm plank, and dolphin). Might be a fave? #Unsure
Also, this is, sadly, my>
youtu.be/jQ3GNAe2MCg?...
#AprilDailyYoga An interesting sesh that had me doing low/high lunges, skandasana, and chair poses until my muscles TREMBLED. Not using my arms at all was a little weird cuz I had to recalibrate how I kept my balance from pose to pose.
It's not a fave, tho.
youtu.be/CG7o2GO8cEk?...
#AprilDailyYoga >keep the arms (and especially elbows) at shoulder level. Squeeze as hard as you can while doing the rest of the sequence. Then switch the arm on top when repeating the pose. You'll be doing a modified version w/o any issues. ;)
#AprilDailyYoga I'm gonna put this at mid-beginner level. There are modifications offered for everything in the sequence.
A tip for the pose that features eagle arms: IF, for whatever reason, you can't do eagle arms, place opposite hands on opposite shoulders. Basically, hug yourself BUT>
#AprilDailyYoga OOOF, THIS SESH, Y'ALL!! Let me start by saying this IS a *fave*. 23 mins of mostly standing & balance poses meant to push your limits here and there.
It all begins kneeling w/your feet tucked and staying put for almost 4 mins-which feels like an ETERNITY>
youtu.be/QKHPFU3NCDg?...
#AprilDailyYoga A mellow-ish 45-min sesh...that begins with half-hero pose, LOLsob. All in all, exactly the kind of practice I was craving today. Beginner-friendly otherwise.
BTW, there's a segment featuring sphinx pose too.
youtu.be/01L4f_oT6DM?...
#AprilDailyYoga 2/2 I'd set this closer to high beginner. YMMV.
The sesh is mostly standing poses (including high lunge, warrior 2, reverse warrior, etc.)
Balance poses include warrior 3, standing pigeon, and half moon.
You do move your arms to and fro a lot too.
#AprilDailyYoga Kicking off a week of wrist-free practices w/this one from James. It was pretty cool; he has a v. playful vibe. I might do another 1 of his videos next week. Not a fave, tho. 1/2
youtu.be/2o-3MpKlyHo?...
#AprilDailyYoga A beginner-friendly sesh that I ultimately found quite MID? Regular yet almost lethargic sequence...
Maybe it wasn't a day for me to follow such a chill practice? ๐คทโโ๏ธ All I know is that it's not a fave.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=59Yd...
#AprilDailyYoga Today was a fiery, 30-min sesh of standard poses with a mobility-focus. This is a high-beginner-to-intermediate practice for sure. Not a fave, but cool all the same.
FWIW, *I* skipped the 2 instances of side crow cuz that's not for me or my wrists, LOLsob.
youtu.be/rUmuQJ7YO6o?...
#AprilDailyYoga
2/2 There are NO standing poses, planks, downward ๐ถ, etc. Instead, there's sphinx w/some more intense options, puppy, thread the needle and the like.
The goal is abt holding them poses, that's where the release comes from. The slower pace is heaven, NGL.
#AprilDailyYoga My upper back and neck muscles were stiff from a night of poor sleep. SO, I went back to a fave Yin video that focuses on easing them w/o straining. And now I feel so gooooood.
This is an all levels practice for sure. No complicated poses here...1/2
youtu.be/Y8GVtS1TPJ8
#AprilDailyYoga A sesh that focuses on the lower body a ton (lots of lunges, side splits, etc). There are no chaturangas and only 2 downward ๐ถ. Set for all levels (w/some modifications.)
Found it to be v. meh. I should've gone w/smtg more dynamic. IDK. Not a fave
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKAa...
#AprilDailyYoga I guess I'm in a Charlie mood cuz she dropped this sesh today and I was like LET'S GOOOOOO!!!
Pretty solid mid-beginner level & up practice w/lots of options for the advanced poses. Good stuff. A potential fave. (Gotta do it again to make sure. ๐)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2zJ...
#AprilDailyYoga EXCELLENT SESH IS EXCELLENT! /This/ is the kind of Vinyasa class I lurve cuz it's Sun Salutations with tweaks that keep things super interesting.
Half an hour that'll get you going for sure. High-ish beginner level. This practice is a FAVE.
youtu.be/ZFbEt_TzeNI?...
#AprilDailyYoga A standard, beginner level sesh that's okay. In the sense that there's nothing that made it stand out /to me/ from all of the other 20-min Vinyasa videos out there.
Good enough to practice, but ehhh. Not a fave.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIFY...
#AprilDailyYoga Mellow, super beginner friendly sesh that includes some mobility-based poses.
Really liked the holds and how they intensified the sequences. Not sure if it's a fave yet. I might have to do it again sometime in the future to decide.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3pi...
#AprilDailyYoga After a false start (the first video I chose had TERRIBLE audio), I did this practice.
Good mix of stretch and challenging poses with /some/ modifications here and there. IMO, it's at high-beginner level. Not sure if it's a fave, but I had fun.
youtu.be/DbbaNGIKgo0?...
#AprilDailyYoga The only reason I knew I had to warm ups was cuz I checked the practice before actually doing it.
So I figured "safety first" and stretched them wrists for a bit. Otherwise, they would be hurting right around now. :|
#AprilDailyYoga 2/2 which is that there are NO wrist warm ups. ๐ฌ cuz of the amount of downward ๐ถ and planks PLUS wild things and fallen triangles.
This is NOT for ppl with wrist and/or shoulder problems at all. IF, like me, you have sensitive wrists, do at least 5 mins of warm ups b4 practice.
#AprilDailyYoga A sesh for borderline high level beginners. You'll do a lot of spine undulating (even for poses like high lunges and half-splits!). Not a fave, tho. I have a big issue w/it...1/2
