Have you heard a surgeon say, "I won't sterilise my tools, as the patient won't let me"? I haven't, but I have heard multiple times, "Business won't let us add unit tests."
I wrote a bit on such lies we tell to ourselves in the latest #ArchitectureWeekly

Thinking of building “one platform to rule them all”? You’re not alone—and it’s trickier than it seems.
Right before Christmas, I wrote a post about the hot topic. As my thoughts spin up discussion, I expanded it in the latest #ArchitectureWeekly

I reshaped the #ArchitectureWeekly format last year, hoping to make it sustainable. I’m still not fully there yet, but that brought me closer. And enough to continue trying.

Last month I’ve made the Black Friday „offer”. And results surprised me. I gave 30 days trial for free to #ArchitectureWeekly.
Anyone could subscribe, read all articles, watch all videos (over 30h) and decide whether to stay.
I think that it’s fair for old subscribers and good option for new.

The write-ahead log is everywhere. Yet, many people miss it and are not aware of it. The simple idea powers databases, messaging systems, and distributed systems. I discussed in #ArchitectureWeekly why it's important on PostgreSQL, Kafka, MongoDB examples

This week, a surprising thing happened to me. In #ArchitectureWeekly, I try to share my perspective experience every week, but I don't like acting as an expert. That's why I am inviting special guests who know specific areas much better than I do. Sometimes, we do webinars, sometimes interviews.

Still, we have a but we have a chasm between observability strategy and instrumentation. That's why I'm happy that @hazelweakly.me agreed to record the #ArchitectureWeekly podcast episode and try to bridge those two perspectives.
