From the archive for Sylvia Townsend Warner, #BornOnThisDay in 1893, my thoughts on the excellent LOLLY WILLOWES.
A magical novel in more ways than one! #BookSky #nyrbwomen25 #BOTD #books #archiveday #backlisted 💙📚

Still ploughing through the archives, I'm again reminded that in the early 1950s, #ThomasNelson publishers were in the habit of borrowing books from @natlibscot.bsky.social. Yes, I know! A legal deposit, reference library. But there it is - the letters are right in front of me!
#ArchiveDay
#ArchiveDay and I'm gutted to find that in Feb 1953, #ThomasNelson turned down the offer of a book on the history of Clan #Macauley. How COULD they?!
#ArchiveDay. Phew! A couple of hours of intense concentration in the education editorial department of #ThomasNelson witnessing the birth of a new school music publication back in 1936. Now I've seen it through, I think I deserve lunch. I'm sure the author and editor would agree.
#ArchiveDay. Oh dear, poor Dr Wilson. It looks as though a parcel containing a ms or proofs that he's editing, has gone missing somewhere between Edinburgh and Cornwall. The author is "peppery". And the missing item?
An Anthology of Travel.
Can you blame it?!
