Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.93%
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.93% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which rose 5.65% or 0.96 points to trade at 17.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT:ORILINAr) added 4.87% or 0.04 points to end at 0.82 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 3.96% or 0.10 points to 2.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr), which fell 6.95% or 0.42 points to trade at 5.62 at the close. Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) declined 4.92% or 0.64 points to end at 12.36 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 2.73% or 0.04 points to 1.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 70 to 63 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.61% or 51.95 to $3,285.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.32 to hit $61.82 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.37 to trade at $65.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.03.
