β€˜We’ve got it backwards.’ Cameras are everywhere in Mass. So why can’t they catch speeders? - The Boston Globe Advocates and lawmakers are pushing a collection of proposals that would allow cameras to catch speeding drivers in Massachusetts.

Yes, Massachusetts needs to legalize traffic enforcement cameras. The bills do an excellent job of addressing privacy concerns, the fees are low and go to the car not the driver, as it is license plate based

This law will save lives #AutomateSafeStreetsMass

Sorry to hear that Jack. Massachusetts sadly hasn't legalized either speed cameras or red light cameras so the bus enforcement cameras are our first steps to #AutomateSafeStreetsMass

But I know you've been going through a big backlash in Ontario against safer streets and the dangers of cars πŸ˜”

Even intersections where Right on Red is banned per the sign, drivers don't care. We need to #BanRightOnRed in Boston and #AutomateSafeStreetsMass statewide

Drivers will do whatever they want when there are no consequences and don't care that they risk all of our lives

I don't think it matters how long you wait. Drivers do whatever they want whenever they want, regardless of signals or signs @walkmass.bsky.social @massbike.bsky.social

We can't legalize red light cameras soon enough #AutomateSafeStreetsMass

We’re now asking for your voice againβ€”this time in the State House. On Tuesday, June 3rd at 11:00 AM, the Joint Committee on Transportation will hold a public hearing on automated enforcement, one of our two key legislative priorities. The billsβ€”H.3754 and S.2344β€”would legalize the use of automated enforcement in Massachusetts. These critical measures are sponsored by Representatives Owens and Cruz and Senator Brownsberger.

I drove 300 miles in rural Virginia, then asked police to send me their public surveillance footage of my car. Here's what I learned. Anyone might wonder how often they are caught on police cameras that operate 24/7. I spent a day driving, and over a month trying to get the answer.
