AWS Management Console now supports assigning a color to an AWS account for easier identification Today, AWS announces the general availability of account color settings in AWS Management Console across all Public Regions. AWS customers now have an easy way to identify their accounts at a glance. Using the account color setting, account admins can assign a color to their AWS account (such as red for production accounts or yellow for testing accounts) that appears in the Console's navigation bar for all authorized users in that account, enabling quick visual identification of different accounts. AWS customers manage multiple accounts to separate their workloads, such as maintaining distinct accounts for development and production environments or for different business units. Previously, users had to rely on account numbers to identify accounts. With this new feature, users with admin privileges can assign colors to AWS accounts, enabling all authorized users to quickly identify the account they want to operate on through the colored navigation bar. When signing in to the AWS Console, users see a default grey color in the navigation bar. Users with admin privileges can change this color through the 'Account' option in the navigation bar's account menu, on the top right of the page. Once the color is set, all users with proper permissions can see it. To view the account color, users need to be assigned permissions using the AWS managed policy AWSManagementConsoleBasicUserAccess or the custom permission uxc:getaccountcolor. The AWS Management Console now supports simultaneous sign-in for multiple AWS accounts Today, AWS announces multi-sesssion support which enables customers to access multiple AWS accounts in the AWS Console. Customers can sign-in to up to 5 sessions in a single browser, and this can be any combination of root, IAM, or federated roles in different accounts or in the same account. Customer applications scale multiple accounts following AWS best-practice guidelines. They often use accounts for different environments such as development, testing, production, and compare resource configurations and statuses across multiple accounts for troubleshooting application issues and other application related jobs. Before this launch, the AWS Console supported one account sign-in at a time, and customers used mechanism such as signing-in accounts in different browsers or installing third-party browser plugins to access multiple accounts in different browsers. Using multi-session capability in the AWS Console, customers can sign-in to their different AWS accounts and manage their resources in a single browser. Multi-session support is available in Commercial Regions. Try it today by signing in to https://console.aws.amazon.com/, selecting the account menu, and selecting “Turn on multi-session”. Now you can pin your most-used applications as favorites and quickly return to recently visited applications. Customers can easily designate favorite applications with a single click, and sort your most important applications, bringing favorites to the top of your list. Recently visited applications can now be accessed in the Recently Visited widget on Console Home, streamlining your workflow and reducing the time spent searching for frequently used resources. Customers can now make payments using SEPA accounts in Five EU countries Customers in UK, Spain, Netherlands and Belgium can now create an AWS Account using their bank account. Upon signup, customers with a billing address in these countries can now securely connect their bank account which supports the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA) standard. SEPA direct debit is a popular payment method in Europe, widely used to make payments for utility bills. Until today, this feature was available only for customers in Germany. Customers in other countries needed to provide credit or debit card details to complete the sign up. With this launch, customers in 4 additional countries can sign and pay using their SEPA bank accounts. If you’re a customer signing up for AWS from any of these 5 countries, you can choose "Bank Account" from AWS sign up page, followed by "Link your bank account". Select your bank from the list of available banks and sign in to your bank using your online banking credentials. Signing in to your bank allows you to securely add your bank account to your AWS account and verifies that you are the owner of the bank account. By default, this bank account will be used when paying for your future AWS invoices. Signup with Bank Account is available in Germany, the first country where this feature is available.
