Listening to Colette here at #CMHP25 reminds me of the conversation I had with Mel Ball for the #BIGSPD25 conference earlier this year.

A big congratulations to the Body & Soul team for delivering a thought-provoking and powerful presentation on Decolonising the DBT Curriculum at #BIGSPD25! 👏
I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago! I’m officially an elf! Massive thanks to @thementalelf.bsky.social and to @elliewildbore.bsky.social for letting me borrow hers #BIGSPD25
My highlight from the British Personality Disorder conference was this poster from @ohteasuz.bsky.social highlighting her lived and clinical experience of “personality disorder”.
Is there a benefit to a BPD diagnosis? This poster confirms all my gravest concerns. #bigspd25

A friend of mine is doing some research and would like to speak to a few more people. Please get in touch with her (details on the poster) if you can help #bigspd25
Silly post from the #BIGSPD25 conference. We had our gala dinner in St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
It is a magnificent building but I was struck by the fact that there were many full body statues, one statue where a man was only head and shoulders, and 2 statues with no legs. What does it mean??
Instead of getting a travelling minstrel to create a ballad about my, er, stumble on the steps of St. George’s Hall at #BIGSPD25, I got AI to do my bidding

Well done Jennie and Chloe! 🎉 #BIGSPD25
I was so emotional I forgot to use the hashtag 😳 #BIGSPD25
So you might have seen I’ve won an elf… for seemingly 1 skeet… I’ve been using another account! I promise! 😳 #BIGSPD25
My #BIGSPD25 poster contribution, challenging the “BPD” diagnosis & current practice of using OOA placement. If you fancy a chuckle at my poor presentation skills give the central QR code a scan & I’ll talk at you for about 15 minutes 😉
Do check out Kelly’s reels on Insta and big thanks to her for being part of the #beyondtheroom team! #BIGSPD25
Humbled also to have won the poster prize for the category of research & evaluation at #bigspd25 this year. Ours sat among many wonderful entries. Prize also shared with colleagues from @hudunipress.bsky.social, @liverpooluni.bsky.social, uni of Beds and @unistaf.bsky.social @bigspd.bsky.social

You were as thoughtful, entertaining and inspirational as ever Ellie!
Great to see you ❤️ #BIGSPD25
Well that’s a wrap on #BIGSPD25 - great to see faces old and new, lots of food for thought.
Can’t believe I actually made it - 8 days out of hospital after 8 months in, this was a difficult conference for me but the right decision to come! Thanks those that made it happen!
@bigspd.bsky.social
#BIGSPD25 thank you for a wonderful conference. Returning to the city where I was hospitalised was tough but with both my lived experience & clinician hat on,speaking out where I was silenced & telling my story, was powerfully healing. We voice our stories to inspire others to liberate their own.
I was lucky enough to chair this- a powerful description of what it’s like when people tell their own stories rather than have to adopt the narratives service give them. The characters become more complex. The motivations elicit sympathy and understanding. #bigspd25
I missed this talk but, assuming BPD is “real”, how does someone live with a pervasive, persistent and problematic illness throughout their life with it only being noticed post retirement age? #bigspd25
So it's a wrap, what a conference, rich reflections learning. Leave feeling exhausted yet re-energised if that makes any sense.
Special thanks to Fi absolutely loved co-chairing in our first outing as co-presidents of #BIGSPD25
Next stop Blackpool #BIGSPD26
Hear hear!
#BIGSPD25
Thank you for all of your #BIGSPD25, #autism support. Great to present alongside Elissa and @kbarnicot.bsky.social. @wordsthatcarryon.bsky.social
So important to remain curious about our experiences. Great to have lots of interest in our presentations at #BIGSPD25
Thank you Andre for your kind words! Wonderful conference, so many meaningful messages to take away #BIGSPD25
Your skeets were excellent Arghya. Really concise and precise. Very reflective and clinically relevant. I loved reading them. Big thanks #BIGSPD25
