It's blue. I mean, that's it. That's literally it. If we had the original we could maybe examine the brushstrokes, the evenness of application, the interaction of light with the surface. But we just have this picture on our screens. Which, as mentioned earlier, is a simple panel of deep blue. (International Klein Blue (IKB), if we're being precise.) I bloody love it, me.

A rather sad, worried, despondent looking little owl. It is dark brown over head and wings, tan on the breast, with big black pools for eyes, cast downward as it looks to our left. It is fairly roughly painted, against a sandy background, with just a touch of its shadow to our left. Or maybe this is all my pathetic fallacy, and it's just looking at a wee mouse that it fancies for its tea? Oh Albrecht, you big tease!
