Blue Sky of Loneliness

Sometimes it feels I’ve fallen off this world,
suspended in blue sky,
dangling on a thread of what ‘self’ remains,
reaching hands and voice to proclaim I am still here,
probing through the blue for a hand to grasp my own. Sometimes...
it feels that way.

Claud the cloud; dense and grey
Independent, oh so proud
Took his drops and ran away
All his crowd he disavowed
Never thinking he would pay
For relinquishing the shroud

But Claud the cloud, gone astray
On a blue and sunny day
Felt the heat to his dismay
And wept his vapor all away
