Day 2 of #btsatcsun is off to a roaring start. Loved Dr. Michelle Cho's and Muziah Kargbo's presentations on parasociality and vicarious media. Lots of thoughts on what kind of fan consumer I want to be. #btsconference #btsandcsun
This conference is also making me realize how much I appreciate BTS, and especially BTS translators and culture folks, for giving me insight into Korean culture itself. "Bapsae" alone seems like it could be a dissertation subject. #BTSConference #BTSatCSUN #BTSandCSUN
Dr. Crystal Anderson is talking about how journalists tend to write about k-pop from the stereotypes and shallow understanding, and it reminds me a LOT of how romance gets treated in the media as well. #BTSandCSUN #BTSConference #BTSatCSUN
This conference is renewing my interest in pursuing Culture Studies. oh no :D #BTSandCSUN #BTSatCSUN #BTSConference
Just finished w/ the Poetry in Motion: BTS Choreography panel at #BTSandCSUN. Loved hearing both speakers, but Rev. Christine Downey's presentation "Whatever Your Dance is, Dance it" was so incredibly interesting & beautiful. Cannot wait for the recording so I can listen again.
The downside of following twitter tags for conferences is you inevitably see the cool stuff happening in other panels and suffer FOMO #btsandcsun #btsconference #btsatcsun
The elements of No More Dream and N.O. were reminders for older fans too, that we don't have to be caught in the systems that try to define us. #BTSatCSUN #BTSConference #BTSandCSUN
Oooh the Jung panel is also about the experience of older BTS fans... I am in the right place! #BTSandCSUN
Geeked out! #BTSandCSUN
There's about 300 folks, and from all over the world so far! I'm excited about this. #btsandcsun
