#Bacillary #angiomatosis different from other manifestations of Bartonella as hepatic peliosis (cystic blood-filled spaces in hepatic parenchyma mostly in advanced HIV). Bartonella other illnesses: cat scratch fever, endocarditis, trench fever & Carrion’s disease.
#Bacillary #angiomatosis typically presents as purple vascular lesions appears similar to Kaposi sarcoma. M.c. skin, but can affect other organs lung, bone, lymph nodes, GI, occasionally brain, +constitutional sx: fever, chills, anorexia, malaise, headache & weight loss.
