In the late 80s, on holiday in Zimbabwe, a teenage me read Hugh Lewis’s Bandiet: Seven Years in an Apartheid Prison.
Banned in my native South Africa, it woke me up to the role of a few white South Africans resisting Apartheid. Very formative.
