#nsfw #ff4nsfw #barontrio I've said it in a comment or two elsewhere but I think I'm just gonna put it here too: IMHO 70% of FF4 could have been solved before the game even began if both Rosa and Cecil had sat on Kain's face before the plot started. Maybe not both at once, but maybe yes!

There is anger in that man's eyes, but there is also lust. He can see it and know it for what it is. He knows - through some strange means that he does not fully understand - that his anger and hate are the dark mirror of the emotions he normally holds. That he hates Cecil so, that he demands to possess and demean Rosa... it means that he loves them both so very dearly. That is the source of darkness, the shadow cast by light, which all beings are capable of. Golbez should not care. He should be above all of this. The world means nothing to him - he does not even feel any particular hatred for it. He did not think he ever truly loved it. It is just a means to an end, to returning to the moon and regaining his legacy - (The thought blurs and grows faint, and he closes his eyes briefly. Easier not to think of his final goal, truly.) Barbariccia is staring at the two of them with cold amusement in her eyes. "You claim to be unaffected, and yet look at you," she says to Golbez, but her eyes never leave Kain's nude form, the seething in his fierce face. He is angry to be reminded that he is still capable of feeling this. He wants to lose himself in rage. He does not have that luxury, however - no more than Golbez himself does. He needs to know his place.
