Streetartwall. The mural of a "Catrina" was painted on a gray house wall. It shows an exaggeratedly made-up young woman with a large headdress of red and orange roses with small gray veils. Her face is made up in white, with blue-rimmed eyes, Mexican ornaments and a long "sewn-up" mouth. The wall painting is very precise and beautifully designed and naturally looks a little creepy. Info: "La Catrina" is a mystical, colorful skeleton woman with a large hat and pompous clothing. Originally created by Mexican artist José Guadalupe Posada for one of the literary "Calaveras", La Catrina became THE symbol of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) and is known beyond Mexico's borders. The name means something like "the rich" or "the wealthy".
