BassBoom is now available via WinGet! Starting from today, BassBoom, which is a cross-platform MPEG music player written in C# with libmpg123 as the backend library, is now available via WinGet! This was done as part of our package efforts to make installation easier for our users. Previously, BassBoom was made available in the official Ubuntu PPA, the Windows Installer format, the Arch Linux PKGBUILD format, in Chocolatey package format, and in NuGet package format.

Making native library builds more consistent with GitHub Actions When we first started building C# libraries that relied on native libraries to do their function, we tried to make this goal stand still: maintaining cross platform support across all popular architectures, such as AMD64 and ARM64. For consistency, we wanted to bundle the native libraries that we built to a single NuGet package, just like all other NuGet packages that packaged their native libraries.

Our projects no longer support macOS AMD64 We were committed to supporting macOS systems since at least 2021, but we were stopped by the limitations in our resources. Eventually, we had restored macOS support by the end of 2023. However, we are now seeing the trend of cutting support for macOS AMD64 machines for applications. We are always committed to providing quality applications and libraries, but we can't keep supporting systems that we don't have physical access to, such as the recent macOS ARM64 machines.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to maintain support for macOS anymore, but we're open for PRs that fix support.

BassBoom v0.1.x EOL Announcement BassBoom v0.0.1 was released on October 1st, 2023, as one of the flagship projects that came after Nitrocid and Terminaux. We were excited to come up with this version of the music player. Later, we've released BassBoom v0.1.0, which brought many amazing features from radio stations to ARM64 computer support. This happened on May 31st, 2024. We are announcing the end of support for the BassBoom v0.1.x version series as part of our plan to continue enhancing our projects.
