#BatTunnel built in UK did not have to cost a £100 million, it could have been concrete blocks and not an architectural masterpiece. That was down to councils and governments to accept that stupid amount of money.

Listening to Rachel Reeves speech - I've yet to hear a defence of the #battunnel, but what would really worry me as chancellor would be HS2 Ltd's shockingly poor project management & stakeholder engagement. You can't blame all the cost & time overruns on the poor bats. (Lucky newts: no mention.)
