A snippet from ellipsus that reads Lina moved about the hidden alcove restlessly, finding her way to the pink camellia bushes that decorated its interior. The sight of the light, delicate petals brought joy to her heart. In her adolescence, she knew only simple things of the flowers in the garden, but as she grew older and found herself engrossed in books and learning, her fondness for this particular flower increased. For camellias symbolized different aspects of romance; and in the language of flowers, lovers would gift the pink varieties to represent their longing for one another. And oh, how she had longed for Oscar and his return. Even now, with him at her side as her knight, she felt that her yearning for him had grown even more. What was once a simple, adolescent pining that spanned a great distance and years was now a burning desire for someone that was mere inches away… and yet she felt that the latter felt less attainable than ever before. It was almost as if some great, invisible sea kept the two apart.

A snippet from ellipsus that reads Delicate fingers ran along the petals of a camellia within reach. Were she like other maidens with lovestruck hearts, Lina would pick such a perfect bloom from its bush and wantonly recite "he loves me" and "he loves me not" with every petal plucked. But she knew the importance of leaving flowers be, and she thought such an idea was mere folly meant for weak hearted women. No, if one were to remove a flower from its stem, it would have to be a very particular bloom. One that was past its prime, where the succulence of each petal was beginning to wane, and paper thinness began to take over. Even in the preservation of flowers between pages of a book — as Lina was quite fond of doing — she was careful to only pick those that would no longer grow and stand out vibrantly amongst the verdant green leaves of their bushes. The types of blooms that were "ripe" for picking were those on the precipice of decay, the beginnings of finality.

Its pink hue was light, and based on its size, it had room to grow. She noted the soft morning dew that dotted the petals of not just this specific flower, but its brothers and sisters nearby as well. While there were certainly ones within reach that she could pluck and twirl and stick in the tangles of her hair, she found no need to do so. Instead, Lina gave the flowers that surrounded her and filled the air with their pleasant aroma the reverence they deserved, leaving them to continue to grow in the secret garden where her own love first blossomed, and was ready to bloom once again.
