A question she almost didn’t want the answer to, what with the missing doors to the Mayor’s bedroom. The guards posted on nearly every door. “Long enough,” Benny sneered softly, a low and menacing tone contrasting that smirk. “Long enough to see. To know… Y’know I thought I’d take a page out of your book, Burke. Be someone I’m not.” Dark eyes looked her up and down, not letting it show how bothered he was that the trenchcoat had wrapped her up. A near opposite from the skimpy red number she wore in The Tops. Glittering in dim amber lights… “You doing all this to make me jealous, honey-baby? Being the boss’ hooker… I’ll tell ya, baby, it’s working.” The Mercenary didn’t think, her dominant hand moving off her gun to slap the Highroller square in the cheek. The force behind it being hardly enough to do anything but make him stagger.
