DC did a great job reconstructing 8th Street NE. I used to bike this segment of the MBT regularly - you could barely see the traffic lines and the width encouraged reckless driving. This protected bike lane looks much safer for everyone

A mockup of a design that adds a two-way cycle track on W Oakland and S Capitol in Shorewood, Wisconsin. A few design elements that merit mention compared to the current configuration: - eliminates right turns on red lights with signals at intersections - adds bicycle signals at intersections - eliminates parking and/or lane capacity on arterials - relocates bus stops after intersections to promote safety for pedestrians and traffic flow
I included a proposed redesign of Capitol and Oakland to include a two-way cycle track, acknowledging it's purpose as a main artery but prioritizing pedestrians and bicyclists by
- eliminating right turns on red lights (adding RTO traffic signals)
