⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Horrible and fantastic all at once. Historical fiction/fantasy. Main characters are young folk but the subject matter is grown and not at all sexy. Excellent example of CORRECTive Black fiction.

I was resistant to reading any of #beverlyjenkins' contemporary. Just felt like if it's T'Bev, it's gotta be #blackhistoricalfiction and that's it. This book felt so her style with the romance in the front and a lil bit of crime/mystery right behind. #blackskybookclub #blackskybooks #blackbooksky
