Blackwork embroidery stitched in geometric and floral Renaissance styled patterns. It has been stitched in 2 shades of gold and teal on an antique shade of evenweave.
Cliffside Stitches' April SAL patterns came out today and I couldn't resist working on the blackwork variant all day.
Maybe tomorrow I can start on the cross stitch design.

Trying some new things with this pattern. Took me a while before I felt comfortable with the pale colours, but I trusted the process and I'm much happier with it.

A piece of blackwork embroidery with 49 little boxes each filled with a motif inspired by a different cultural embroidery pattern. I have used a gradient of different threads, from yellow in the top right corner which change to orange, red, pink and purples in the middle and back out to yellow in the bottom left corner. The border is currently incomplete
I'm going to redo the border, but I'm done with all 49 motifs in the grid.
I had a really good time with this ❤️

Embroidery hoop containing an embroidered picture. At the centre is what could be a bay window or a tower, surrounded by swirling clouds. Each brick has a different needlepoint stitch in shades of pink. Through the dash window you can see the side of a woman in green, sitting and embroidering, surrounded by cushions, a cup of tea, various clutter. The bottom of the tower disappears into a riot of large flowers and leaves, these have outlines and very intricate blackwork filling. Below this foliage is calm blue grey water, a crocodile is just visible with its eyes and some scales breaking the water’s surface. Also visible are the coils of a snake or monster, and the tentacles of some sort of octopus. In the centre is a small patch of unembroidered fabric with a needle stuck in it, threaded with blue thread.
I finished my self portrait.
Me trapped in my tower, as I have been since October 2024, with opioids and string for entertainment.
I assume was rude to a fairy godmother at some point.
