His own blood was smeared across Astarion's mouth and chin, stark against his pale skin, and Halsin was struck with the mental image of a cat, with its muzzle covered in gore. Amused and delighted, Halsin was seized by an urge that he couldn't refuse. "You're a messy eater, your majesty." He grinned, the hand on Astarion's head slipping around to cup his face, "Come here." He pulled him in, and he saw Astarion's eyes widen. The star parted his lips, but Halsin leaned up and kissed him before he could speak. Their lips pressed together, warm and wet from the sanguine mess between them, and Halsin stuck his tongue out, licking across his mouth to collect the blood. Iron sang on his tongue as he pulled back and swallowed, reclaiming what Astarion had taken from him. "There we are." He rumbled, noting with amusement that Astarion's eyes, and his pupils, were blown wide, ringed by color like a supernova.

He had high-swept, grey and brown hair, and a silver circlet around his brow with a ruby centerpiece. Halsin concluded he was the leader, by the poise and grandeur he walked with, and aged weathering of his leathery hide. He smiled back at Halsin, but it was not friendly; more akin to a wolf, bearing its teeth. "Shkath zai, friend." He replied, "And just who are you?" Halsin raised his hand, putting it over his heart. "My name is Halsin Silverbough. This is my companion-" Inspiration struck in the moment before the name left his lips, "-Thaniel." Out of his peripheral, he saw Astarion look at him in surprise, but mercifully, he said nothing. "Thaniel... and Halsin." The githyanki repeated, as if tasting the names on his thin tongue, "And where do you hail from?" "Reithwin." Halsin lied, "What about you? I didn't think githyaki were common in these parts." "Chk!" One of the others scoffed, but the leader gestured for them to stand down, a croaking sound in his throat that Halsin realized was a chuckle.
