Here's a look at where our July fire activity in #CALFIRELNU compared with the last 15 years.

We saw the third fewest acres burned of any July in this timeframe and the number of wildfires were also below average, which is something worth highlighting!

Every acre of fuel reduction work is an investment in public safety. In the fiscal year 2024-25, #CALFIRELNU treated 6,152 acres through a combination of broadcast burns, fuel reduction projects, fuel breaks and right of way clearance projects with our many partners here in the North Bay.

The @napacounty.bsky.social Board of Supervisors approved a new 3-year, $64.6 million agreement with #CALFIRELNU, continuing a partnership dating back to 1932. The agreement ensures uninterrupted fire protection, emergency response & disaster readiness across unincorporated Napa County.

The increasing fire danger posed by the high volume of dead grass and hotter, drier conditions in the region is prompting #CALFIRELNU to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Areas, effective June 23. Full details included in picture.

#CALFIRELNU has responded to 6 vegetation fires over the past 12 hours, the largest being a 1.4 acre fire at HWY 29 & Bar X Entrance Road NE of Middletown. In these windy conditions & with fire activity picking up across the state, please do your part to prevent sparks that could ignite a wildfire.

This week, the #CALFIRELNU Training Bureau is teaching the wildland portion at the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Academy. Students are learning the basic knowledge, skills and abilities needed to prepare themselves for a career in the fire service.

Here’s another great example of collaborative roadside fuels reduction efforts happening in Lake County with Caltrans, the Northshore FPD & #CALFIRELNU all working together.

The project is a half-mile south of the SR-29 and Soda Bay Road intersection, below the Clearlake Riviera community.

This week, #CALFIRELNU is conducting pile burning operations at the Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest in Lake County. This work, under favorable weather conditions, further reduces hazardous fuel loading near communities and popular recreation areas on the forest.
