I've given Anita hell, but I feel for her. I cried for two days when I learned I should have chemo AFTER the cancer was removed & then I cried for a whole week when I had a reaction to the first meds & learned I'd need the red devil & possible future complications

Round 3 of chemo is officially in the bag. It’ll be the last one before having the Whipple done in mid-May, then 9 freaking rounds starting in late August. Hoping with the med changes and lowering the dose of one of the agents I won’t be as sick the rest of the week. 🤞🏻

Phase 2 of cancer treatment starts tomorrow, the internal brachytherapy. It will be an uncomfortable 10 minutes at the main hospital. But it's only 3 treatments, and hopefully this will take care of this. My journey isn't over yet. #cancersucks #endometrialcancer #cervicalcancer

IRIS needs your help!
Yesterday out of nowhere a large lump appeared on the left side of Iris’s chest. I knew immediately her cancer had likely returned. Today a chest xray confirmed my worst fears.
Iris had surgery this afternoon to have the mass removed.

Last chemo today before having the Whipple surgery in mid-May. I’m so relieved that I won’t have do do round 4. That means 9 rounds in the fall, though, instead of 8.
Today was better in some ways, worse in others.

The head of a very beautiful and very loved dachshund/lab mix is poking out between my arm and my body while I'm reclined on the couch. I couldn't have asked for a better companion. He was always by my side. I know I made the right call to end his suffering - because he was suffering. But it still hurts so much to know I won't see him in the morning and play with him in the yard anymore. I'm thankful for all the wonderful memories I have of him, but it just hurts so damn much that I won't be making any more. I love you, Jack. I love you so fucking much. I love you 💜
At 9:05pm, our beloved Jack crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
He was so sweet, goofy, and the bestest buddy ever.
He had been with me for 13 years, when I first collected him as a puppy from a laundry basket in Forsyth Park, Savannah, GA.

My brother has stopped brushing his teeth and is struggling to walk even with a cane. Eating is hard to remember to do so he won’t unless someone is around to push food. I expect to see tumor progression on his next MRI
