i think dark themes are just a bandaid solution (and i hate how they look)
ideally we should:
- add support for colors brighter than the traditional #FFFFFF (HDR)
OR
- adjust all our light themes so the background is like, #CCCCCC instead of #FFFFFF
but i'm not holding my breath..
